A dedicated and collaborative director and stage manager. Having previously worked with theatre companies such as AG Theatre, UMMTA and Altona City Theatre, to bring theatrical endeavours to life!Angus (Gus), has had more than a decades worth experience on stage as a performer and with a hands-on experience and understanding of what it takes to make a show great, Gus is ready to tackle any challenge. When it comes to making a cast and crew become a family or lending a hand to make a dream production a reality, it's always been about putting the show first and putting all hands in to make something the best it can be.
UMMTA - 2024
A comedic re-telling the creation of fire. Utilizing puppetry, projections, animation and an eager large-scale ensemble cast to bring the show to life. A verity of different techniques were used to create the sense of a campfire story, as if it were a fable being passed down from generations.Heavily collaborating with everyone involved and working alongside each other to deliver on a truly unique experience. Part of the goal was to create a fun and collaborative space where ideas were expressed freely making this a truly rewarding experience for all involved and something I look back on very fondly.

SWINBURNE THEATRE SOCIETY - 2024
A short revue show pulled together by Swinburne University’s theatre society. As stage manager for this show I held the responsibility of queuing lighting, sound, keeping track of entrances and exits, and with the help of assistants, pre-setting any set pieces and props.
Performed at Gasworks Theatre, this one-night revue show was a true passion project for everyone involved. A fun experience, that while challenging was incredibly rewarding.

AG THEATRE - 2025
Produced by AG Theatre and performed at the National Theatre in St. Kilda, this show was a huge task with everyone involved putting in a massive effort.
This show famously utilizes puppetry to tell it's story. For out production, a large-scale set was utilised, featuring an operating double door which allowed the audience to look into each characters apartment.Keeping track of every quick set transition and scene change was a tall task, yet pulled off effectively in this mammoth show.

ALTONA CITY THEATRE - 2025
Along with having to manage many moving parts, including a rotating stage, several specially timed projections as well as very quick timed set changes, this production was a large obligation from everyone involved.Having to navigate the stage was one obstacle all on it's own, another was checking in on the health and safety of the performers. As a 'fireman pole' was implemented as apart of the set, we regularly tested it and made sure each actor using it felt safe before performances. A fun and inviting production for all involved. Altona city theatre has always had a welcoming environment and it felt like I was right at home.

CGTC - 2026
Written by Peter Farrer and produced by CGTC as part of their 'First Curtain Theatre Festival'. Salmon, an original play amongst an anthology of unique shows, was an absolute blast to shape. This two hander, reminiscent of plays such as 'Waiting for Godot', sees a Waiter and a Chef having a heart-to-heart in an alleyway, just outside their restaurant. Complaining about customers, discussing their futures and complaining about pretty much everything.Being an original show, it was a truly unique experience to shape from it's conception, one that was supported by our brilliant leads paired with it's impeccable and witty writing.
